Six Teenagers Injured in Single Vehicle Franlin County Car Crash
Six teenagers from Franklin County were taken to St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Washington, Missouri, after the pick-up-truck they were riding in overturned. The single vehicle crash occurred shortly after midnight on Saturday, bringing Missouri State Highway Patrol and emergency responders to the scene by 12:30 AM Sunday morning. 17-year-old Cameron Stahlman was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado south on Route K with passengers Rachel Cusick (16), Sara Davis (15), Samantha Deason (15), Hannah Molkenbur (15) and Haley Willis (15). Stahlman's vehicle traveled off of the roadway and overturned, ejecting driver Stahlman from the vehicle, and injuring all 5 female passengers. The 6 teenagers were taken by ambulance to St. John's emergency room to be treated for their injuries.
Initial crash reports have indicated that Cameron Stahlman was "traveling too fast for conditions". A continued investigation will reveal the nature of this reason, whether it was weather or road conditions that Stahlman was negligent in safely operating his vehicle around.
